Head of the Economic Advisory Practice, Austan Goolsbee is also the Robert P. Gwinn Professor of Economics at the University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business and former Chairman of the Council of Economic Advisers. He was the youngest member of President Obama’s cabinet, and he is a leading thinker on the economy as well as on the impact of government on business. Mr. Goolsbee serves as a member of the Economic Advisory Panel to the New York Fed and, before that, on the Panel of Economic Advisers to the Congressional Budget Office. He is a former Fulbright scholar, Alfred P. Sloan fellow and was named by The Financial Times as one of the six “Gurus of the Future.” He serves as an economics consultant to ABC News and writes for the Wall Street Journal.
Mr. Goolsbee earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Economics from Yale University and his Ph.D in Economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He is married with 3 children and resides in Chicago.
